Dennis 250th Hometown Heroes Dedication

To honor and celebrate the 250th Anniversary of American Independence, the Town of Dennis will be dedicating a Memorial Plaque to our Hometown Heroes, the soldiers of the twenty-eight families who fought bravely for our independence during the American Revolution.​
The Dedication will be held from
2:30 PM to 4:00 PM on Armed Services Day,
May 16, 2026,
in the Dennis Village Cemetery
at the corner of Route 6A and Old Bass River Rd.

Visitors in period dress, Scouts, and the Color Guard will be the first to march from the Gazebo to the Receiving Tomb led by the Fife and Drummer. All other visitors are welcomed to check in at the Gazebo and proceed to the Dedication site near the Tomb.

A Patriot Family Tent will be set up to recognize and honor descendants of the soldiers whose last names are among the 28 families* being honored. If your last name or ancestral surname is among these, we encourage you to contact the Dennis Historical Society at info@DennisHistoricalSociety.org to register. When you arrive, please proceed to the Patriot Family Tent so you may check in and pick up your name tags.
