Great news on our progress in 2025 with the land purchase in the heart of Dennis Village.

We met our 2025 mortgage obligation on the 6A property

On December 31st, we closed on the “wrap-around” parcel to Hope Lane​
Congratulations and thanks go out to all donors in achieving these major milestones.

What is the wrap-around parcel?

Land adjacent to and behind the historic building on the corner of 6A and Hope Lane (see map on back).
What else is required?

The final mortgage payments are planned for 2026. We are counting on your 2026 pledges to be received on or before May 1, 2026.

Sellers have until May 1, 2026 to remove a dumpster, a storage container, and building materials from the conservation restricted area RC-1, as shown on map.
We are thankful to the volunteers from VIS and the Dennis Conservation Land Trust who have identified and removed invasives from the 6A lot frontage.

Preserve the Charm Campaign Team
We are happy to celebrate the successful acquisition of property previously designated for development in the heart of Dennis Village! Thank you for your donations and pledges. The negotiations required agreement of multiple interested parties, and they were very complex with many components.
The property is being conveyed in two pieces. The first is the vacant treed property along 6A. The second includes the land abutting the rear of the 6A parcel and extending to Hope Lane (known as the “wrap-around”). Both parcels will have a deeded Conservation Restriction in perpetuity. Also, any future development on the Seller’s remaining property will be subject to local zoning, historical and conservation restrictions..

The total purchase for all of the above is $1.8 million, structured as a 2 year no-interest mortgage to be paid in full in 2026.
Donations will be used to make the mortgage payments, so we are counting on your donations and pledges for 2025 and 2026 to be received on or before May 1, 2025 and May 1, 2026
